Bengaluru, known as the "IT Capital of India" or the "Silicon Valley of India," is currently the nation's main hub for information technology exports. It is also well-known for its natural beauty, which stems from the numerous green parks that surround the city, and it is one of the best places in India to live because of its development and pleasant weather.
There are many theories behind how Bangalore got its name. Bengaval-uru, or "the city of guards," was Bangalore's original name in the 9th century. In the 12th century, Hoysala king Veera Ballala 2 changed the name to Benda-kaalu-ooru, 'the town of boiled beans.’ On a hunting trip through a jungle, the Hoysala King got lost and a poor elderly woman brought him boiling beans the king, out of gratitude, named the city after her Benda-kaalu-ooru.

Later, Kempegowda the ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire, was regarded as Bangalore's founder in the 16th century. He selected Bendakaluru as his capital. It later became Bengaluru during the colonial times. After Kempegowda, Adil Shahi, Marathas, and Wodeyars of Mysore ruled Bengaluru. After that, Hyder Ali governed the city, and his son Tipu Sultan followed in his footsteps. Bengaluru was governed by Tipu Sultan till the British captured it during the war. And lastly, Bengaluru was given to it under British administration. And lastly, under British administration, the city was given the name Bangalore, which began to see extraordinary expansion and development, turning it into a forward-thinking, modern metropolis complete with all the amenities.
After independence, Bangalore was known as the state capital of Karnataka, and today, people address the city by both names: ' Bengaluru’ and 'Bangalore’.
